I first became aware of Funky Flair Boutique in the fall of 2018 during the first Black Business Crawl from Official Black Wall Street. You can imagine how disappointed I was to find the shop closed when I stopped by, but a quick peek in their shop window convinced me that I would happily give them all of my money if I ever made it inside. And I was absolutely right about that.
On my very first visit to the store—located outside of Atlanta in Marietta—I was warmly greeted by the shop owner, Kesha, as soon as I walked through the door and I immediately felt connected to her. She was so attentive and made sure she understood what I was looking for. I appreciated that she helped me to prioritize how I looked and felt for my upcoming event. I was fortunate to be the only one at the shop at the time, but as other shoppers began to roll in, Kesha greeted them just as warmly and showed just as much care to help them find what they needed.
I was a little concerned going in because I usually wear an XL, the largest size Funky Flair carries, and items are not always available in this size. Despite that, Kesha made sure I was able to walk out happy with everything in my bag and never tried to pressure me into getting something that I was not completely sure about. I loved that.
The clothes in the boutique fit the name—they have a funky flair. Each piece is unique on its own yet all the pieces make sense together. They are colorful. They are sexy. They are functional. They are stylish. They can be dressed up or down, depending on your style. There’s plenty to choose from in the store with even more selections available on their website.
I walk out of Funky Flair Boutique with at least three new outfits and a pep in my step every time. I have to be honest and say that I spend more than I usually spend on clothes here, but I also start most of my shopping trips in the clearance section. I am very pleased with how far my $100 can go at Funky Flair.
I am going to have to save up for my next trip to Funky Flair Boutique, but I am definitely looking forward to it and know it will be worth it.
