iwi fresh | Atlanta, GA

iwi fresh

My best friend treated me to some relaxation time at this Black-owned spa in 2016 and I have been a fan ever since. I continue to choose them because they are able to handle any of your spa needs. Nestled in Atlanta’s Castleberry neighborhood, the farm-to-skin spa offers a space for self-care in the center of a bustling city.

Although walk-ins are welcome, I recommend booking an appointment to avoid a lengthy wait time. I once decided to stop by for a service one afternoon when I had some extra time, and they estimated my wait time at 3+ hours. Appointments can be booked quickly and easily online, as well as over the phone.

My first iwi fresh facial

Each and every time I visit iwi fresh, I am extremely happy because everything feels and is very natural. Most of their products are plant-based and created in-house: aloe for your cuticles, lemon for your calluses, spinach and cucumber for your facial, and squash cleansers and carrot moisturizers for daily use. Their variety of brown sugar scrubs smell fantastic, can be used for different services–or purchased for at-home use–and they made my hands and feet feel like silk. I leave feeling refreshed, relaxed, and renewed.

Prices vary depending on service and duration. Massages and facials start at $55 for 30 minutes. Manicures and pedicures can start as low as $10 and $15, respectively, on express Tuesdays and additional specials run throughout the week. Gentleman Jack Thursday (because men need self-care too!). Half off a second facial for BFF Friday? Yes, please. Mimosas with any service on Saturdays? I’m here for it!

I’m also very much here for the atmosphere at iwi fresh. First of all, “iwi” stands for “it is what it is,” and that’s exactly what you find at iwi fresh. From the moment you walk in, you are surrounded by freshness.

Brown sugar scrub station

The entryway is flanked with trees and plants. There’s a corner where the owner/skincare chef creates products and there’s another station to create your own brown sugar scrubs. There are rooms with soothing music for massages and facials and also an area where Atlanta Hot Shave provides shaves, trims and such. Overall, it’s a relaxing and refreshing place to be. A second location is slated to open in 2020 and I definitely plan to visit.

In addition to their spa services, iwi fresh also sells products online, in-store, and at select Atlanta-area Whole Foods. I use their 14 Carrot Glow moisturizer as part of my regular skincare routine and it actually makes my skin glow and feel like 14 karat gold. They have a whole line of products for your face, skin, and body that can be purchased individually or as kits.

Whenever I need some time to relax and refresh myself, I choose to do it at iwi fresh. Or when I’m in the mood to spice up my at-home self-care routine, I choose to incorporate iwi fresh products. I’d definitely encourage you to do the same.

Happy buying!
