Arnold’s Tea | Pittsburgh, PA

Arnold’s Tea came up on two different lists as I was preparing for my trip to Pittsburgh, so I knew I had to make sure I stopped in. And I’m glad I did.

Atmosphere:

Nestled in the row of shops on East Ohio Street in East Allegheny, Arnold’s Tea feels like a community hangout. It is spacious and has what feels like two distinct areas with plenty of seating enough for individuals and groups to meet and work. Everyone was met with a smile and a familiar greeting as they walked in which added to the positivity in the air. The colorful art pieces sprinkled around the room added to the ambiance.

Food:

I started with their signature Peach Apple Cobbler tea which is a combination of peach oolong, apple cider, and cinnamon spice. I ordered it hot and added just a little bit of sugar which really set it off for me. It was so good. The peach, apple, and cinnamon flavors were so clear but were also well balanced. It was like I was enjoying a hot slice of cobbler.

Because I sat and worked for a few hours, I ordered some lunch before I left. I ordered the Buffalo Chicken Wrap with a Lavenade to drink. The wrap wasn’t too spicy and had a really nice crunch to it. It was a generous enough size that half the wrap was more than satisfying, so I was able to share the other half with a friend. As good as the wrap was, however, the Lavenade stole the show for me. A chilled mix of lavender and lemonade , this drink was incredibly refreshing and delicious. Even though the weather was a bit chilly on the day of my visit, I could easily imagine how perfect a treat this would be on a hot summer day.

Arnold’s Tea offers a variety of black, green, white, and oolong teas in addition to their signature blends. They also offer breakfast and lunch sandwiches, salads, soups, and sweets.

Price:

Teas start at about $3.50 for 12 ounces. Food ranges from $5 to $7.50. For the portions, I’d say these prices are pretty reasonable.

Service:

As I mentioned earlier, everyone that walks in is greeted with a smile and familiarity. The entire staff is really friendly, which makes the entire experience pleasant. Everything is made to order, but the wait is usually not very long, which I appreciate.

Overall:

I really liked Arnold’s Tea. It’s a great spot whether you need to do some work, want to catch up with some friends, or grab something delicious to eat. I will definitely be back the next time I’m in Pittsburgh.

Happy Buying!
