Every once in a while, I will treat myself to a glass of wine. In the fall, for the Thank God It’s Thursday (TGIT) TV lineup, once in a while becomes more like once a week. Moving forward, that wine will come from Maison Noir Wines as often as possible.
I found Maison Noir online back in the spring and decided to try them out. You have to verify that you are of age before even entering the site and again at checkout, but the ordering process is very simple and there are plenty of options to choose from. I opted for a red, a white, and a rosé.

Before I get to the wines themselves, let me say that I really appreciate the service. When I placed my order in March, I expected to be put on the email list and receive nothing but coupons moving forward. However, I was extremely (and pleasantly) surprised two months later when I received a personalized text message from the company’s founder wishing me a happy birthday. That, on top of the fact that the wines were shipped and delivered quickly, made me want to buy again immediately.
The wines themselves were delicious and have fun names. I’m not big on red wines, but Horseshoes and Handgrenades is a nice red blend that I would definitely drink again. It mixes Syrah, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Merlot into a dry, full-bodied, refreshing complement to your day. I loved Bottoms Up, a crisp, slightly sweet Riesling. It combines peaches and citrus fruits into a delicious way to unwind. But my favorite was Love Drunk, the rosé. There were so many fruit flavors, and it was perfectly sweet and refreshing.

The wines are all very reasonably priced. Most of the wines are around $17, but there are a couple wines that will run you between $40 and $45, with a few more coming soon that will be as much as $75. Shipping comes out to $5 per bottle. I haven’t tried the more expensive wines yet, but I can say that the wines that I got were worth the cost.
Whether you need to channel your inner Olivia Pope while watching TGIT sans Scandal or to unwind after a long day of work, I’m sure that Maison Noir has a wine for you.
Happy buying!
