New Year Resolutions: Eat Better | Various Locations

Exercising more is one of the most popular New Year resolutions, and it is often paired with a second: eating better. For some, that means cooking more at home. For some, it means doing a detox. For some, it means choosing something green over some thing fried. Whatever it means to you, if you have committed to eating better this year, or even just once in a while, be sure to check out these Black owned businesses on your journey.

Juice me too

Juice Me Too

I know that I talked about Juice Me Too when it was time to think about summertime

preparations, but it is worth mentioning again. From smoothies and juices to wraps and bowls, Juice Me Too has everything you need to eat better this year. It has become my go-to spot to

grab a post weekend workout drink or snack. I love that I do not have to choose between good taste and good for me. I have tried some things that I never even knew existed (like walnut meat), have enjoyed them in the moment, and have felt great afterward. Due to the small staff, there may be a little bit of a wait, but it will ALWAYS be worth it. My favorites are still the Maho Bay smoothie and the Pineapple Pete juice. If I could, I would have one of them every day, but the way my budget is set up, I will have to wait a little longer for that.

Eat Baby Greens

On my only trip to Austin, Texas, I made sure to stop by Eat Baby Greens. I found it online, and I’m so glad I did. Eat Baby Greens is a perfect place to grab something fresh when you are on the go. You can walk up to the cute hut-like structure order and eat at the picnic tables under the pergola. You can also choose to stay in your car and drive through on your way to wherever. I have not been through the drive through, but I have it on good authority from a reliable Black Girl Buyer that you will not wait more than 5 minutes. Whatever you choose, it will not be long before you are enjoying a fresh, healthy, delicious meal. I had the southwest salad with their signature drink, the BT, which is made from green tea, blueberries, spinach, and honey. I also got a cookie and enjoyed every bite of everything. I cannot wait to go back.
