Urban Grind | Atlanta, GA

urban grind

If you’re not looking for this place, you might miss it, and that would be a shame.

Atmosphere:

Urban Grind is a bit of an oasis tucked into a corner on Marietta in downtown Atlanta. The street is bustling during the week, but I am usually able to find some peace here on a drizzly Saturday morning. There’s plenty of comfortable seating and space to relax or work or talk or whatever. I usually find a seat at a hightop to do some work, and with Duke Ellington (or the like) playing in the background, I’m definitely a fan.

Food:

I have not eaten here yet, but they have a few sandwich options that have caught my eye. I do always order a pot of tea, and always really enjoy it. I haven’t had the same tea twice and will usually rely on a recommendation from the barista. I have yet to be disappointed.

Price:

I love the fact that I can have an entire pot of tea (with the option for more water, so basically unlimited) for less than $5. Coffee ranges from $2 for a small coffee of the day to just under $5 for a large specialty espresso.

Service:

The service is great. Urban Grind is clearly a neighborhood spot. The baristas seem to be familiar with the people that come in and are very friendly. They also always make great suggestions for my tea, so bonus points for that. I also really like that they’ll deliver your order right to your seat if the store’s not too busy.

Overall:

I love going to Urban Grind. When I have some time to really enjoy a coffee shop experience, I’ll be doing it at Urban Grind. In true neighborhood coffee shop fashion, there’s music on Wednesdays and an open mic night for poetry on Thursdays. This is a really comfortable place with a good vibe – great for productivity.
